A better kind of booking experience

Great events begin long before the first impossible moment.

Choosing entertainment is not just about finding someone available on a date. You are trusting a performer with the energy in the room, the comfort of your guests and a moment your people will remember. Neal takes that responsibility seriously.

The show is built to hit hard. The experience around it is built to feel thoughtful, flexible and easy. Whether you are planning a corporate celebration, school assembly, theater date, library program, church event, family gathering or close-up magic for a reception, you deserve straight answers before you commit.

Frequently asked questions

The practical stuff, without the runaround.

How much does it cost to book Neal for an event?

Every event is a little different, so Neal provides a clear, tailored quote once he knows the date, location, audience and format you have in mind. This is premium, professional entertainment built around the experience you want your guests to have, not a bargain-bin act dropped into a ballroom. The investment reflects nearly 20 full-time years of experience, thousands of shows, thoughtful preparation and an experience people remember. You will always know what is included before you decide.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Neal accepts checks and all major credit cards, including American Express, Mastercard, Visa and Discover. Your agreement will clearly outline the payment schedule and the full investment, so there are no vague surprises between booking and showtime.

How far in advance should we book?

Prime dates do not last long, especially around the holidays, school celebration seasons and popular corporate event windows. Many clients secure their date months in advance so they can plan with confidence. If your date is coming up quickly, reach out anyway. Neal will always give you a straight answer about availability and the strongest options for making the event work.

Do you travel, or are you only local?

Neal has built his show for the road and the runway. From regional events across the Carolinas and Virginia to fly-in performances around the country, his team handles travel, logistics, tight timelines and destination events without missing a beat. If the event matters, distance is not automatically a limitation. Share the location and Neal can help determine the cleanest plan.

Will this actually work with our audience?

That is exactly what Neal is known for. His performances are built to connect with real audiences: corporate teams, students, families, theater crowds, clients and guests who may arrive with completely different expectations. The show is smart, funny, clean and highly interactive, without awkward moments or volunteers being made into the punchline. The magic gets attention. The way Neal works with people is what makes the room feel like it belongs together.

We have hired a magician before and been disappointed. Why will this be different?

That is a fair hesitation. A performer who promises energy but cannot hold a room leaves the person who booked them carrying the regret. Neal’s show is built around more than tricks: age-appropriate comedy, strong pacing, visual magic, respectful student participation and the experience to read the room in front of him. He asks practical questions before the event, tailors the program to the audience and treats your students, staff and schedule with care. The goal is not simply to be different. It is to give your school the confident, genuinely fun experience you hoped you were booking in the first place.

Will this feel too corny for adult guests?

Not if you want smart comedy, impossible magic and audience participation that never makes guests the joke. Tanya J. booked Neal for her husband’s 40th birthday and said, “I was worried that my mature, witty guests would find a magician juvenile and corny, but I couldn’t have made a better choice. Neal knocked it out of the park!”

Do we need a stage or anything special for setup?

Not necessarily. Neal can work in a theater, ballroom, gymnasium, library, banquet room, country club, conference space or a more intimate gathering. He needs very little from you and adapts to the environment. When the event calls for it, professional sound, wireless microphone and visual equipment can be provided. The goal is to be the easiest and most effective part of your event, not another production problem on your list.

What happens after we book? Are you hands-on or hands-off?

Neal stays involved where it matters and handles the details so you do not have to. From pre-event coordination and useful marketing support to day-of execution, you will know what to expect. He asks the right questions early, confirms the important details and arrives ready. A live event can change quickly, and a seasoned performer should be calm, flexible and useful when it does. The aim is simple: make the process seamless and make you look great for booking it.

What is the difference between close-up magic and a stage show?

Close-up magic is personal and social. It happens just inches away with a small group gathered around a cocktail table, dinner table or reception space. It is an excellent way to get conversations moving during cocktail hour, networking, dinners and social events. A stage or stand-up show is bigger, more visual and designed for the entire room to experience together at one time. Both are powerful in their own right, and many clients choose a combination: close-up magic to spark the room, followed by a stand-up show that brings everybody together.

Can we trust Neal? Are there reviews?

Yes, and yes. Neal is a full-time professional performer with nearly 20 years of experience, thousands of shows and a certificate of liability insurance. More importantly, clients consistently talk about the same things: a polished show, kind treatment of guests, genuine laughter, clear communication and a room full of people having a better time together. Read the words of clients from corporate events, schools, libraries, theaters, churches and celebrations on the reviews page.

Why hire a magician instead of another form of entertainment?

Great magic has a rare advantage: it gets an entire room looking in the same direction. It is visual, funny, surprising and immediately shared. A skeptic does not need to believe in magic to enjoy being completely fooled. Neal’s show brings down guards, starts conversations and gives people a story to share afterward. This is not a cheesy routine from someone’s backyard birthday party. It is a first-class live experience, built with theatrical magic, comedy and audience connection to create maximum impact.

Can Neal perform for colleges, universities and graduation events?

Absolutely. Neal brings close-up magic to college and university social functions, plus high-impact stand-up magic and comedy for college community nights and high-school graduations. The humor adjusts to the audience and the event, while the show always stays clean, professional and family-friendly. Students get a show with real energy. Event planners get entertainment they can confidently put in front of the entire room.

Can we add a Family Night to our school assembly?

Yes. Schools can pair a daytime assembly with a completely different Family Night show that same evening. The daytime program gives students something to get excited about, then the evening brings parents, staff and students together for theater-level magic, comedy, mind-reading and big audience moments. Families can also meet Neal for red-carpet photos after the show, with Rockstar Magic wands and magician kits available as take-home souvenirs.

Can Neal entertain at a family reunion or beach-house gathering?

Yes. A family reunion or beach-house gathering is exactly the kind of room where Neal’s interactive magic shines. He has brought stand-up and close-up magic to celebrations from Carolina Beach and Wilmington to Ocean Isle Beach, Myrtle Beach and Virginia Beach. Kids, parents and grandparents can share the same show, with volunteers treated like stars and no one left pretending they are only there for the children.

What social events are a great fit for close-up magic?

Close-up magic is ideal when guests are mingling and you want the energy to build naturally. It works beautifully for casino nights, Rotary clubs, senior functions, country clubs, fundraisers, cocktail hours, receptions, networking events, festivals and dinners. Neal moves between groups, creating impossible moments inches away and giving people an easy reason to laugh, talk and call someone else over to see what just happened.

Choosing the right performer

Ask a few better questions. Then listen carefully.

A strong performer does more than list credentials. They listen. They ask about your people, your venue, your goals and the feeling you want guests to leave with. The conversation should make you feel more confident, not more pressured.

A long résumé can be reassuring, but it is not the show. When the event begins, your guests will care whether they are entertained, comfortable and having a great time. The best fit is someone who knows how to make the event work, not someone who needs the event to work around them. Neal’s client-first approach is rooted in being prepared, humble, clear and genuinely invested in the people who trusted him with their night.

The Neal standard

No diva list. No vague surprises. No green M&M nonsense.

Live events are fluid. Timelines move, rooms change, weather happens and the best-laid plan occasionally needs a quick adjustment. You do not need a stiff performer who turns one change into three new problems. You need someone who can stay calm, adapt and still give your guests an exceptional experience.

Neal brings professional communication, transparent planning and the finesse to work with the room you actually have. He is proud of the credentials, but he is even more proud of the way clients feel after the event: relieved they made the call, thrilled by the reactions and already thinking about when to bring him back.
